Our Heritage
With its beginning at Friedens Lutheran Church and School in the fall of 1971, Shoreland Lutheran High School began its first school year with 15 freshmen and 7 sophomores. The first graduating class grew to 10 girls as the school continued to blossom. The campus was moved to Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, back to Friedens, and finally became permanently located on its current property along County Highway E in the town of Somers.
Over 1500 students have graduated from Shoreland Lutheran High School, and have been taught and inspired by well over 100 faculty members.
God continues to bless Shoreland: with ministry to now 24 supporting congregations, 14 elementary schools, more than 250 families who enlist our help with their children’s Christian education, an enrollment of over 300 students, plus over 40 educators, support staff and countless volunteers.
