Mr. Groth
is a 1999 graduate of Martin Luther College, New Ulm, MN. At MLC, he earned a
Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary and Secondary Education with a major in
music. Prior to his graduation, he spent one year as an emergency teacher at
Michigan Lutheran High School in St. Joseph, MI. Mr. Groth was assigned to SLHS
in May of 1999.
Mr. Groth's duties at Shoreland include conducting the Concert Band and
coordinating the Grade School Band Program. He also teaches Religion 101,
Keyboarding/Word Processing, Computer Literacy, and Freshman Music. His
co-curricular activities include directing Shoreland's Pep Band and Jazz Band as
well as the Saturday morning Grade School Band, and serves as music director for
the Lutheran Vanguard of Wisconsin.
Mr. Groth and his wife Kathryn have two children and live in Racine. They are
members of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Kenosha. His hobbies include playing
trumpet and most other instruments, singing, traveling, hiking, fishing, target
shooting, and deer hunting.
